Our Client has a requirement for a Business Systems Test Lead to work with the program manager, product owners and scrum teams, to plan and coordinate the user acceptance testing of the project’s deliverables from the Payment Modernization program within the Funds Management and Banking Department (FBD).


This engagement will require an estimated five (5) days of onsite effort weekly at 7.5 hours per day throughout the duration of the term.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Create the internal User Acceptance Test (UAT) strategy and test plan(s)
  • Support the Testing Working Group’s lead to build/review an appropriate Industry Testing Strategy with external stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for testing scope definition and test timelines
  • Work with product owners to validate the testability of business requirements
  • Work collaboratively with analysts and subject matter experts
  • Provide inputs during project planning (resource requirements, test estimates, etc.) and throughout the development life cycle to ensure business objectives are met
  • Support the scrum teams and Business System support team to create test scenarios and identifying candidates for automation
  • Establish SLA’s and define KPI’s for the test team to maximize quality and timeliness
  • Collaborate with the scrums teams to identify gaps in the test automation framework and participating in the work to close those gaps
  • Ensure test environments are ready to start testing
  • Participate in the defect process, ensuring that defects are clearly documented, tracked and reported to facilitate timely resolution
  • Produce and present testing-related reports and information, such as requirement-based coverage, testing progress and problem areas
  • Analyze the impact of a change from a testing perspective, including time, cost and risk
  • Prepare testing estimates that incorporate all the activities required to effectively test the requirements
  • Provide advice and guidance on QA services, tools and processes to management, employees and clients
  • Maintain and adhere to IT standards and guidelines for testing
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relations with internal and external counterparts to support the program’s objectives
  • Provide support and ensure a smooth transition to operations
Position Qualifications:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in computer science or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in testing complex infrastructure and applications using a formalized system testing process
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in developing test strategies and plans and producing test cases and scripts based on requirement documents, use cases or user stories
  • A minimum of five (5) years working in or with an Agile scrum team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and stay organized for multiple and concurrent project initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience using JIRA or other defect tracking tools
  • Demonstrated experience working on Agile projects
  • Demonstrated experience working with exploratory testing techniques
  • Ability to meet Enhanced Reliability Clearance requirements
  • Ability to speak French would be considered an asset
