Position:

Our Client has a requirement for Network Specialist to ensure support of the Client’s Network Infrastructure and the support of Network Infrastructure projects.

 

This will require an estimated five (5) days of onsite effort weekly throughout the duration of the engagement and may include requirements to be on-call on a rotational basis.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the implementation of architecture, hardware, software, and customized software changes
  • Participate in testing related to performance, disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Provide support in ensuring that client expected service levels are maintained
  • Perform regular analysis of incidents to find root cause of problems
  • Proactively identify and design solutions to repair troublesome trends
  • Monitor health and capacity of the network (LAN, MAN, WAN)
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, and help employees derive permanent solutions to problems
  • Provide advice to management and colleagues on network products, technology opportunities, concepts, standards, policies, and guidelines (e.g., supporting Cisco ASA or FWSM firewall configuration, or UNIX and other secure platforms/appliance devices)
  • Producing technical documentation and perform knowledge transfer sessions for other team members.
  • Perform inventory and audit of network component configurations and topologies
  • Ensure that the Network solution is current with stable and supported versions of software and hardware products
  • Understand and adhere to ITIL change management processes
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the complex system architecture and multi-tier design
  • Participate in Type 1 – 4 projects by providing support in area of expertise
  • Configure network devices using vendor “best practices”
Position Qualifications:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in computer science or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of Four (4) years of experience in previous engagements that involved configuration and supporting Network equipment, including each of the following:
    • Cisco routers and switches
    • Cisco Nexus switches
    • Cisco ASA
    • Cisco ACE (or CSS)
    • Aruba wireless infrastructure
    • F5 load balancers
    • IPAM, DNS, DHCP and NTP
    • Checkpoint firewalls
    • Bluecoat proxy servers
    • Packeteer packet shapers
    • Fortinet UTM solutions
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing, configuring and troubleshooting the implementation of network services.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with BGP routing protocol, VRF, VPC, VSS
  • English essential, French would be considered an asset
