We are a preferred Vendor at Saskpower – Saskatchewan’s Power and Utilities provider; and they have asked us to provide them with a Business Analyst-Project and Portfolio Management to work in the team for several Projects Regina. Located: Regina, SK / Remote*
Status: Contract 24 months possible extension
Rate: All inclusive hourly rate
Required: Hybrid (remote / On site)*

* Preference is for On-site but consideration for Hybrid (Remote and some ON-site as needed), must be able to cover SaskPower’s normal business hours of Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm CST.

Position

SaskPower is looking for an experienced Business Analyst required for projects within the Application Management team. The Business Analyst role performs Business Analyst and Test Lead activities, as well as some OCM and minor project management activities.

This position has 2 major project focuses:
1) SaskPower is planning to renew its corporate Project and Portfolio Management solution. This is an enterprise initiative that will focus on construction and engineering project management and portfolio management. There will be other areas of the business involved and although important they will not be the primary focus.

2) SaskPower utilizes the Kronos software package on-premise. UKG has announced this package will be retired in 2027 in favor of their SaaS offerring. The BA will work with the business to document their uses of Kronos. SaskPower EA’s and management will use this information to determine how best to address the documented business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute a discovery phase to understand the requirements for the solution and develop a proper scope. This information will be used by SaskPower to develop a project approach that will meet the needs of the business.
• The Business Analyst will work with SME’s from the Corporate Project and Portfolio Management Office to document requirements and develop scope.
• Activities will vary by initiative complexity.

Qualifications

• University Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CBAP Certification
• PROSCI Certification
• PMP Certification
• Extensive experience in a BA role on large, complex projects through all phases of the project.
• Experience in a BA role in the utilities and / or construction businesses.
• Experience with project and portfolio management practices.
• Experience performing some light project management activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
