Position

BC Hydro is looking for an experienced Certified Records Manager with demonstrated experience at a senior level (in large organizations) in records management and archival services planning and development to develop and implement record management and archival policies, standards, and guidelines. The Successful candidate(s) should have the ability to provide advice and leadership to executives, line managers, and staff, in operational and office environments.

Responsibilities

• Developing and/or managing indexing/classification, taxonomies, and electronic management systems, and strategic records, information, and imaging systems.
• Assess current industry trends and emerging business requirements, technologies, and develop strategies for the effective provision of records and information management.
• Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies, Archival Studies, Information Studies or similar designation
• Combination of work experience and educational background may be considered
• Excellent change management, communication and interpersonal skills; contract, project management, and risk assessment skills
• Demonstrate strong relationship management skills including analytical thinking, coaching skills, negotiation skills, as well as presentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills to fulfill BC Hydro’s business needs.
• Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders in a matrix reporting environment through regular reporting and communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of project management practices and procedures, and hands-on experience in applying these to optimize project resources.
• Understands and has experience implementing corporate retention schedules.
• Experience with leading and implementing projects relating to digitization and/or digital preservation.
