Status:                  Contract 21- 24 months (possible extension)

Rate:                     Hourly

Required:            Remote work and some on site work

Travel:                 10 – 20% may be required to USA locations


OUR CLIENT is seeking an energetic project manager who is keen to work as part of a strong PMO team to combine two legacy companies’ ERP systems and processes together.

Reporting to the ERP Integration Program Manager, this project manager will be responsible for assisting in the successful completion 2-3 ERP Integration projects concurrently. This role requires IT and project management acumen, a pragmatic problem-solving approach and an understanding of how important change management is to the successful adoption of a solution by end users.

The ERP Integration Program will cover the migration from legacy Oracle On-Premise, Oracle Cloud, and Sage Accpac ERP solutions to a single instance SAP solution. The focus of the program will be on data conversion, training, change management, and local/legal solutions for (new) geographies.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of ERP Implementation Methodologies. The project manager will represent the client and will work alongside an external SI that will be contracted for the duration of the full program. The ERP integration program is expected to last an estimated 21 months.

The role will be global and therefore collaborating with multiple regions for relevant projects.

This position can be based out of Calgary or Houston.


  • Overall responsibility is to define, plan and deliver project objectives on behalf of the IT PMO.
  • Manage 2-3 medium to large IT projects
  • Work with Resource Managers to estimate effort and assign participants to achieve project goals.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and Program Manager in a clear and timely manner.
  • Keep stakeholders informed and engaged using various communication methods including regular project status updates.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant business owners.
  • Follow IT PMO governance processes by adhering to structured stages of initiation, planning, execution, closure and presenting at IT PMO meetings including Stage Gate.
  • Follow IT PMO standards including preparation of Project Charter, Resource Plan, Schedule, Financial updates, Lessons Learned and Closeout Report.
  • Provide status reports for each project to the program manager
  • Tracking KPI metrics for each project
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Manage Risks and Issues that arise throughout the project; escalate as required.
  • Manage project budget, actual and forecast costs.
  • Manage resource plan, utilization and forecast time.
  • Work with project leads to direct project teams’ tasks and manage progress in project areas: development, configuration, data migration, testing, training among others.
  • Support and collaborate with team members on solution design and problem resolution.
  • Evaluate and manage organizational change to ensure initiative launch is successfully embraced.
  • Ensure changes made are consistent with standards and best practices.
  • Follow IT Change Management process.


  • Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, and/or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing large IT infrastructure projects using PMI based Project Management methodology
  • Experience with managing ERP systems (ideally SAP) projects is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; an enthusiastic motivator who brings a team together for common goal and helps to resolve roadblocks
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communicator, through presentations and written communications.
  • Strong business and Information Technology acumen.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office tools, specifically Project, Excel, Visio, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Experience in an Engineer to Order manufacturing organization would be a significant asset.


  • Willing to occasionally travel (10-20%)
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and or the US.

Willing to occasionally work off hours to accommodate team members in other time zones.
