Overview

We are a preferred Vendor at SaskPower – Saskatchewan’s Power and Utilities provider; and they have asked us to provide them with a Solution Architect Cyber/Infrastructure to work with their team in Regina. * Currently all SaskPower resources are working remotely due to the covid-19 health situation, however all resources are expected to return to the office as restrictions are lifted. Standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Position

Our client is looking for a Cyber Security Solution Architect who will play an important role in furthering the development and maturity of SaskPower’s cyber strategy.

Responsibilities

The position’s responsibilities include the architecture, design and implementation of network and cyber security infrastructures.

The technologies and solutions within scope of the role will be directly aligned to SaskPower’s cyber security and network priorities, and may include:
• SSL Decryption,
• Cyber security Monitoring,
• DLP,
• Azure and Cloud Foundational Projects,
• DDoS Prevention,
• DNS Protection,
• Perimeter Defense among others.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications
• Degree or Diploma in related Computer, Software or Engineering field
• Vendor certifications in the areas of Networking and Security are preferred (e.g. Cisco, PAN, Checkpoint, Fortinet, others)
• CISSP, CISM or a GIAC certification is preferred
• TOGAF certification is an asset

General
• 5+ years of relevant and documented cyber security experience in IT Security, Incident Response or Network Security related to network architecture roles.
• Demonstrated experience developing cyber security solutions and architectures.
• 5+ years of designing, maintaining and operating cyber security infrastructures which may include firewalls, UTM/NGFW, proxies, e-mail security, network access control, IDS/IPS, malware sandboxing, URL filtering, etc.
• Strong foundation in LAN switching/routing, data center and cloud network architectures.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills, attention to detail, as we well as strong collaborative skills and proven ability to work in a diverse team of professionals.

Desired Experience
• Demonstrated experience with creating automated log correlations in Splunk or a similar tool to identify anomalous and potentially malicious behavior.
• Experience with one or more languages (e.g., Python, Kusto Query Language, Splunk – SPL, Powershell, Jupyter Notebook, Rest API)
• Experience with packet flow, TCP/UDP traffic and Active Directory.
• Working knowledge of security architectures, devices and threat intelligence consumption and management within Cloud, network, email and endpoint.
• Experience with scripting and automation of network workflows using common tools.
• Experience with modern networking and security technologies such as Cloud, SDN, SD-WAN, Zero Trust, Micro-segmentation, SOAR, etc.
